Ok, Jennelle and i are very tired of not having our own space, a room, a closet, anything. No offense to Rash or Sabi, but we live in a one bedroom with too many people, no privacy, none of our personal stuff, a futon matress on the floor, and we are in IV!

If anyone has a room somewhere in the vacinity of SB, or Goleta, we are in desparate need! We don't have enough to pay any first last deposit crap but if we get a room, we can definately keep up the rent, we have both been promoted at our job, and are in steady positions getting paid $10 and $12 per hour.

Please help, we are going crazy... a couple should not have to live the way we have had to live the last few months. And we would like to personally thank Eliot for that! Asshole!

Anyway, despite popular rumor, we are not drug addicts, we clean up after ourselves, and for the most part like to keep to ourselves. Yes i am a DJ, but my decks go off at 10pm at the latest, and i will not disturb anyone with a constant racket of noise.

We are just a madly in love couple with a need for some space, so if you can help please let me or her know asap.

Hey everyone- I kinda need some help cause I am in New Zealand and cant do anything about this situation. I had to move to New Zealand last minute because my mom was having medical problems. When I came out here I had to leave my 15 year old dog with a friend, until my dogs tests were done so she can come out to NZ. Well, her tests have already begun and she will be out here in the next few months. But my friend who took her has been threatening to take her to the pound about once every few weeks because of her unsteady living situation. So can anyone watch my dog for two weeks? I will pay you, and her food will be completely taken care of. Some of you I already know that you cant, but the main reason I am sending the message is because I need ideas sence I have run out. Here is the note she sent me today.................Hey jess. I havent been able to find a house. Im moving home today and need a place for huggie to stay. Anyway were going to continue looking in the meantime for a new house the next two weeks. If we cant find anything then I am for sure going to adopt huggie out. Please call some of your friends and find out where hugs can stay for the next two weeks. I need to have a place for her in by Saturday (which is tomorrow).......................So I really need some help, desperately! Here is your chance to help a very loved dog and her best friend. Since she is 15 people dont adopt old dogs, so help her get to me.

I am putting a CD together with all local DJ's. Heres the way its going to work.

10 DJ'S will have a total of eight minutes of time on the CD.

Each DJ will recieve 60 Professionaly produced shrink wrapped and bar coded with 4 page insert. The CD will look just like what you see at the warehouse or Best Buy

Each DJ will recieve enough insert space for a pictue, phone #, EMAIL,
and web site link

If you want more than 8 minutes get two slots or split a second slot with a buddy

The cost is $125 that breaks down to $2.08 per CD
sell them for $5 and make a profit or just give them to your friends

FUCK. well, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse and I was trying to have a positive outlook on life, I was victim of theft yesterday. Someone broke into my room (apparently through the window which had been cracked open at the time) and made off with one of my most valued possesions at the moment, my laptop computer. They seem to have took nothing else (they could have took many other things of value) but they took my computer. Allong with years worth of tracks, samples, beats, photos and other stuff, much of which was not backed up (especially new stuff) because of recent limitations of my studio. This will be a MAJOR set back for me. I have only a few ideas of what could have happened and not much to go on. The crime appears to have occured between 3-7pm sunday. Elevate Address Update

So yeah, heres the deal.

Due to a very careless promoter that had scheduled an "underground" event the week before. The location has been shut down. So we were forced to find a new venue in the last week. It truly saddens me to lose Space Island because of my own blood and sweat that had been put into it. Let alone how it affected my friends who actually live there.

I personally think we did you all justice in the choice we made. The new venue features Full A/C in both areas. A very large outdoor smoking patio and Secure parking. All in the heart of Downtown LA.
Plus the opportunity to view some very excellent art. All pieces are for sale, as it is an art gallery by day.

If you have not noticed, I have not been around for a few months to monitor. So anything that occurs when I have not be monitoring, I can not necessarily do or say anything about. But when I am here, I can say or do something about certain nonsense. I do let the haters thread continue cause it has so many posts in it that anyone clicking on that discussion and not expecting a long delay just didn't look close enough.

As for bad language, insults and other general berating statements, I don't really care. Those messages are skipped over fast enough. The only messages that I have made any note to delete or ask you to stop posting are ones that involve extremely long messages with no real content that just eat up other peoples time and in general kills a thread in most cases. Asking for a little responsibility in thinking about others should not be a problem here. Its a simple enough request and everyone should be able to easily live with it without it causing a problem.

Arguing over the subject is becoming a waste of time too. I might as well turn moderation over to someone else and just leave tribes all together if people can't show even the smallest amount of respect to someone who has generally been very generous and asked for very little ever in return. Its now getting to the point where you people are just straight up pissing me off and why should I care about a bunch of ungrateful piss ant little kids that want to piss all over a good thing just cause they think they are funny when they are not. Do I need to get anymore angry about this? I hate being angry at anyone as it is, if you can't respect a minor request of mine, then just say so and I will take my toys and play elsewhere.

My apologies to anyone I may have offended with the previous post. But I am finding a need to be a little more vocally pissed to get my point across. Anybody honestly complaining about my request is likely someone who has not used any kind of thread based board before. I have spent over 15 years of my life doing this sort of stuff and I don't feel what I am asking is too much or out of line. In fact, anyone with any real experience should understand how truly relaxed I have been about this moderation thing, considering I could just straight ban people from the tribe as far as I know. Rules suck too.

So does preventing anyone from doing what they want to do that
does no harm to others.

The only thing that sucks more is pulling sway and gerallizing the
actions of a few to be the motives of all.

What sucks especially is calling names with animocity for little
valid reason (if any) at all and making everyone feel like crap
when the only person upset is ones own self.

What sucks the most is the fact that I felt inclined to say all this

I have to agree with your points but....

I will validate one point that Han has. Posts like these are bad for the tribe. They do slow down everything as they take up lots of space and make it impossible to interact with your fellow online worders if your on dialup. Remember what that was like? Some of you may not.

I would say it would be a travesty if the hate rant went bye bye. But this one is silly. Do some reading up about how webpages work and what makes them load slower. You might think twice then about the disservice you are treating people to.

This is not a post written in anger. It is mearly a post asking for understanding of all parties.

If you had all the pieces of a dissassembled watch in a bag, and had an infinite amount of time to shake that bag, do you believe that you could ever get a completely assembled watch? (assuming that all the pieces of the watch and the bag itself would never deteriorate due to friction)

2737 BC -- Emperor Shen-Nung in China prescribes cannabis for beri-beri, constipation, 'female weakness,' gout, malaria, rheumatism and absentmindedness.

2000 BC -- In Egypt, cannabis is used to treat sore eyes.

1400 BC -- A Bronze Age drug trade supplied hashish and opium to ancient cultures throughout the eastern Mediterranean as balm for the pain of childbirth and disease.

1000 BC -- Cannabis use begins in India to overcome hunger and thirst by the religious mendicants.

1000 BC -- Bhang, a cannabis preparation (a drink, generally mixed with milk) is used as an anesthetic and anti-phlegmatic in India.

200 BC -- In ancient Greece, cannabis is used as a remedy for earache, edema, and inflammation.

200 AD -- A Chinese physician, Hoa-Tho, prescribes cannabis as an analgesic in surgical procedures.

800 AD -- Mohammed allows cannabis but forbids alcohol.

1000 AD -- Moslems produce hashish as medicine.

1621 -- The medical book The Anatomy of Melancholy by English clergyman Robert Burton claims cannabis is a treatment for depression.

pre-1700 -- Cannabis is used in Africa to restore appetite and to relieve pain of hemorrhoids. Its antiseptic uses are also known to certain African tribes. Various other uses, in a number of African countries, include the treatment of tetanus, hydrophobia, delirium tremens, infantile convulsions, neuralgia, cholera, menorrhagia, rheumatism, hay fever, asthma, skin diseases, and protracted labor during childbirth.

1763 -- The "New English Dictionary" says cannabis root applied to skin eases inflammation.

1799 -- Napoleon’s army re-turns from Egypt with knowledge (and samples) of cannabis. The scientific members of Napoleon’s forces are interested in the drug’s pain relieving and sedative effects.

1839 -- William O'Shaughnessy, an Irishman working in the service of the British in India, writes the first modern English medical article on cannabis.

1850 -- Medical use of cannabis declines and cannabis begins to lose support of the medical profession as other medications, considered superior to cannabis in their effects and more easily controlled as to dose, come into wide use.

1854 -- The U.S. Dispensary of 1854 lists cannabis compounds as suggested remedies for a multitude of medical problems, including neuralgia, depression, hemorrhage, pain relief and muscle spasm.

1860 -- The Committee on Cannabis Indica of the Ohio State Medical Society is convened. The Committee reports that their respondents claimed cannabis successfully treated neuralgic pain, dysmenorrhea, uterine hemorrhage, hysteria, delirium tremens, mania, palsy, whooping cough, infantile convulsions, asthma, gonorrhea, nervous rheumatism, chronic bronchitis, muscular spasms, tetanus, epilepsy and appetite stimulation.

1893 -- India establishes the India Hemp Commission to examine the question of cannabis use in India. The Commission reports the use of cannabis as an analgesic, a restorer of energy, a hemostat, an ecbolic, and an anti-diarrhetic. Cannabis is also mentioned in the report as an aid in treating hay fever, cholera, dysentery, gonorrhea, diabetes, impotence, urinary incontinence, testicular swelling, granulation of open sores, and chronic ulcers. Other beneficial effects attributed to cannabis are prevention of insomnia, relief of anxiety, protection against cholera, alleviation of hunger and as an aid to concentration of attention.

1922 -- The Narcotic Drug Import and Export Act is passed by U.S. Congress. It is intended to eliminate use of narcotics except for legitimate medical use.

1938 -- The Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act is passed. The FDA is given control over drug safety, and the Act establishes a class of drugs available by Prescription.

1941 -- Marijuana is officially removed from the U.S. Pharmacopoeia.

1971 -- Drs. Hepler and Frank report that cannabis reduces intraocular pressure by up to 30%, thus helping glaucoma patients.

1972 -- Drs. Hepler, Frank and Ungerleider publishes a study in the American Journal of Ophthalmology which finds that the use of marijuana is associated with a decrease in intraocular pressure.

1976 -- American pharmaceutical companies successfully petition the federal government to be allowed to finance and judge 100% of marijuana research.

1976 -- A Washington, D.C. man (Robert Randall) afflicted by glaucoma employs the little-used Common Law Doctrine of Necessity to defend himself against criminal charges of marijuana cultivation (U.S. v. Randall). On November 24, 1976, federal Judge James Washington rules Randall's use of marijuana constitutes a "medical necessity."

1978 -- New Mexico state legislature passes HB 329, which authorizes a medical marijuana research program for patients with cancer chemotherapy and glaucoma.

1980 -- Georgia state legislature passes HB 1011, which authorizes a medical marijuana research program for patients with cancer and glaucoma.

1980 -- New York state legislature passes SB 1123-6, which authorizes a medical marijuana research program for patients with cancer and glaucoma and other life or sense threatening diseases.

1992 -- Jim Montgomery, a U.S. paraplegic who smokes cannabis to relieve muscle spasms, is arrested in Oklahoma for two ounces of marijuana. He is sentenced to life plus 16 years. It is later reduced to 10 years.

1996 -- California state agents raid the San Francisco Cannabis Buyers' Club. The next day, the club is ordered closed by Superior Court Judge William Cahill. The Club reportedly distributed marijuana beyond that used for medicinal purposes. The club's owner, Dennis Peron, makes news when he declares that "all use [of marijuana] is medical."

1996 -- Voters in Arizona (Proposition 200) and California (Proposition 215) approve initiatives endorsing the legal use of marijuana under a doctor’s supervision. Other states follow suit.

2002 -- Two medical marijuana users file suit against federal authorities "in an effort to try to stop government raids on pot used by sick patients." The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Oakland, argues U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and Drug Enforcement Administration director Asa Hutchinson are violating the Fifth, Ninth and 10th amendments as well as a commerce clause by cracking down on medical marijuana use. Plaintiffs Angel McClary Raich of Oakland and Diane Monson of Oroville say they require medical marijuana to help ease the pain of their illnesses. Raich suffers from wasting syndrome, nausea and a brain tumor, and Monson endures chronic pain and spasms

2006 -- The Supreme Court rules against Raich and Monson.
